POROS
A volcanic island, separated from Peloponnese by an extremely narrow channel which dozens of little boats (caiques) cross constantly. A visit to the sanctuary of Poseidon dating back to the 6th century BC., and Lemonodassos (Lemon Forest) are among the most favourite excursions. Night life lovers have tremendous options, while swimmers will find charming beaches with clear waters.
HERMIONI
One of the capes of Argolis facing the island of Hydra. Quite picturesque and romantic, full of olive groves and beautiful beaches. Simple and with no extravaganzas, she lies awaiting your visit.
HYDRA
In recent years has become the Artists' centre and well known for its standing coves and grandeur. Entering the port one finds canons, embrasures and villas built in the 18th and 19th centuries scattered along the waterfront. Blessed by the absence of cars, Hydra provides a splendid promenade for those who wish to walk through its arched back streets.
KYPARISSI
An isolated village hidden in a bay of Myrtoon pelagos, it overlooks the sea and two large white pebbled beaches with crystal clear waters.
MONEMVASIA
One of the Byzantine states of Greece, is joined with the Peloponnesean coast through a thin strip of land. The entrance to the old town is sensational; remains of the fortress wall, narrow streets with magnificent homes, and Byzantine churches all confirm the glory of her past.
ELAFONISSO
A small island in the southern part of Peloponnese. Elafonissos is a paradise filled with white sand beaches and a forest of cedars resembling Christmas trees. The local taverns are famous for their fresh fish and delicacies.
GEROLYMENAS
A natural bay located in southern Mani has beautiful stone built homes and towers next to the sea. It is the starting point for sea adventurers visiting the southern coast of Mani by boat.
PYLOS A picturesque port of Messinia, is in the historical bay of Navarino. Museums as well as the renowned castles of Paleokastro and Nikoastro are all part of the numerous places one can visit.
KYPARISSIA A small town surrounded by green valleys, perfect for endless walks in the wild nature. It is split in two: - the old Kyparissia with traditional homes, beautiful back streets, and a Byzantine castle built on top of the old Acropolis - the new town, is a modern city overlooking the Bay of Kyparissiakos.
METHONI: This small town on the south west side of Peloponnese has a castle built by the Venetians during her peak in the medieval era which overlooks a secluded beach. A bridge at the south side of the castle leads to a smaller outlet where Turks have built an octagonal tower.
PORTO KAYIO: A picturesque bay of eastern Mani, is on one's way to the Cape of Tenaro, a rather small and secluded bay surrounded by greenery.
KITHIRA: All villages here were built around the 19th century. One can visit the remains of towers built by Venetians who inhabited the island for almost five centuries. Kithira, known for her local delicacies is compromised of impressive hills and secluded white pebbled bays.
GERAKAS: This natural port is set in a small fjord, formed by steep cliffs. At the end of the fjord and next to the homes, there is a small lagoon with a very narrow opening which almost resembles a lake. Gerakas is a beautiful port with cosy taverns and fresh food.
SPETSES: This island, covered in pine trees and beautiful beaches has a history dating back to 2500 B.C. Antique canons decoratively guard the scenic harbour and the dozens of shops and cafes that line the shore. Charming horse-drawn buggies are the form of travel, since cars are not allowed on the cobbled streets.
NAFPLION: This town is full of history, each civilisation that inhabited it left their particular trademark. Three famous castles dominate the town; namely Palamidi, Akronafplia, and Bourzi, built on the islet facing the harbour. Walk in the old town itself, where the Roman civilisation meets with Byzantine, and the Venetian meets the Turkish.
TOLO: The largest and most touristic centre of Argolis county has spectacular beaches, calm waters and picturesque islets. Enjoy the spectacular night life.
PORTO HELI: A modern town, with a natural harbour is safe from all weather conditions, therefore it provides an excellent refuge for all yachts. This port of call has gradually become a popular tourist attraction in recent years.
METHANA: A volcanic peninsula whose latest explosion back in 273 B.C., created multiple hot springs. Her meeting with the mainland of Argolis is so distinctive that one may think that she is an island. Offering numerous bays, Methana provides a safe refuge for yachts and tranquil sea for swimming.
AEGINA: The sandy beaches here have been acclaimed by sun worshippers and swimming enthusiasts throughout the world. The most important archaeological site here lies to the east of the island near Ag Marina where the Temple of Afaia-Athena is located. The island's capital has lovely restaurants, bars, and numerous shops for buying unusual antiquities.
